As you know I am a BIG fan of South Lansing. 53 of my 65 units are in South Lansing. I especially love the Pennsylvania corridor. What is your favorite parts of Lansing for investing?
I am going through some serious marketing updates. I have pictures older than you and videos older than me! Not entirely true, but it is time to get at it. And while I am getting all my snapshots in order, one thing I am sure to notice is that my buildings might need an update or two as well!
Would anyone be interested in a “Contractor’s Day” event? I am imagining plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, flooring installers, HVAC guys/girls, etc., all in a large room, all available to answer questions about themselves, their licenses, their previous experiences and all available for bids, projects, etc.
Would you go to that event if it was held in Lansing? If you were a skilled trade person, would you want to have a booth at such an event?

Hello! I think it is time to light up this group again (like all my boilers...ugh!) I have always believed the pie is big enough for all of us to take as big a slice as we want leaving plenty for everyone who also wants a slice. Lets’s all be more active with this group. We can help each other immensely. Let me start with a question - Do you factor in credit scores in your tenant screening? If so how - is it based on score, on outstanding debt, on judgment debt? Please tell, even if only to say “No!”
Just a reminder - I am going to provide some very basic training on investing in income property with a focus on single family homes. There are four sessions and this coming Saturday is session 1. RPOAMM Members pay $10 per session, non-members pay $25. The training is at 3315 S. Pennsylvania Avenue in Lansing, at the Safety Council building. Class is limited to the first 30 attendees. What are you getting for rent per square foot for your properties? It is a common metric in rental real estate. Check against your competition to ensure that you are getting paid enough or to ensure that you haven't priced yourself out of the market!
