I’m performing along with a wonderful line-up of other musicians this Friday evening to benefit . I’m excited to call in radical abundance for them as we sing and play from our hearts, including some familiar sing-alongs and some inspiring original creations. Excited to share the stage with my friends from again, and reconnect with an old friend, !

It was announced today at that I have been hired as the permanent Worship Coordinator at Sycamore Creek Eastwood. They crossed out “interim” from my title in the slideshow and gathered around me to commission me and anoint me with energy of blessing through touch.
This was a very meaningful moment to me (Swipe to see a close up of the joy I was exuding.) I’ve been on an intentional journey of building community outside traditional church structures since 2023, and have expressed this by founding and directing . It wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card to start working in a church again and love it so much. I had my reservations at the outset and didn’t necessarily expect I would apply for the permanent position.
But God does work in mysterious ways sometimes. I can see the Spirit of radical love, inclusion, justice, abundance, and transformative grace working through this community.l. It is an honor to get to work with them as a musician and band leader and on other ways of creatively connecting us to the sacred pulse of life. I am excited to continue this journey together and invest this church as another part of my calling in addition to my work with The Healing Feast.
If you’re local in Lansing, I’d love it if you feel like joining us on a Sunday morning and discovering why this church lives up to its slogan of “We hit different.”

Summer keeps flowering out with more than we could possibly need or carry. Building, harvesting, singing, dancing, roots, fruits, reunions, celebrations, births, deaths. When I dream up a theme for the community space I’m creating , or even just set an intention for my own life, I have to be careful what I wish for.
In two weeks we’ll be gathering around the theme of wild abundance. A culmination of the summer harvest inspired by the story of the prodigal child—the wasteful one, the extravagant one, the squanderer, because that’s what prodigal means, and that’s bad right? But look at how how their divinely loving parent responds when they come home: let's throw the most extravagant, wasteful feast. Let's use everything we've got. Like mother, like son.
The joke is that every time I cast a vision like this, the ever loving universe gives me ample challenges to live into it. Stepping into trust that we can give away free tickets online for anyone to reserve them, that we can make bigger financial commitments before we get that grant, that my own family's pilgrimage to the motherland of Mexico at the end of the year will be feasible, that everything will be OK with immigration in the first place… all of it has been less than breezy. Then I'm over here working myself to the edge of burnout as a mother, lover, minister, community builder, and still not feeling like I'm ever doing enough at the same time, and how is that practicing what I preach?
Then I step back and see it: we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary with more wholeness and harmony than ever in our relationship. My husband's green card was approved. We have had everything we need even when it's tight. Our son just started a wonderful new preschool and I finally have set time to work again. People have come from all directions and out of the damn woodwork to support The Healing Feast and make it more transformative and healing with their presence. We are creating an alternative to the exhaustion, isolation, disconnection, and hollow success, and that takes time, sweet time.
Now all that is left is to remember, and return. I can do so much less and give so much more.

This July is blazing sun and deep shadowed groves and finding all the sweetest plumpest black raspberries in the underworld of the thicket as it pricks you with dagger thorns. Juxtaposition of opposites, balancing dualities, and finding that maybe opposites are just a continuum of fluid experiences, a spectrum, a rainbow, even. Life is non-binary.
I’ve been sharing a bunch of ways to experience it all more deeply on our Healing Feast Patreon page: to experience Resting in the Divine Feminine and Dancing with the Divine Masculine, the themes of our last two feasts, through songs, embodiment exercises, ethereal deep rest practices, dance experiences, poetry, meditations. These are my freely given gifts to you from the first fruits of the summer harvest. Please accept them. (lnk n b!o;)
In two weeks we will be holding the Healing Feast in Nature on the theme of Harmony & Wholeness, which is when we integrate and transcend the feminine and the masculine, and all the other dualities and binaries that can either constrain us or they can inspire, feed, and free us. Let’s choose the latter. Let’s move outdoors, put our feet on the earth, share nourishment, and find the pulse—the heartbeat—that holds us in the cycle, the dance, of divine harmony.
Meanwhile, I am preparing for a diagnostic medical procedure tomorrow that I hope will provide long-awaited clarity about how I can better exercise sovereignty as I take care of my body and harmonize with her deepest needs. Through this procedure, I feel a calling to initiation, a portal to transformation—surely any mind-altering substance can be one, including general anesthesia! So I step into July, this month of freedom and possibility, as my dear friend (who is co-facilitating The Healing Feast on the 16th!) has written about so gorgeously, seeking a new form of freedom in the most fleshy, embodied way—through my immune system, my digestive tract, the way I nourish my body. Whatever comes of this test, my intention is to be initiated into serving us all—myself included—food and feasts that allow us to more fully, abundantly, freely, radically nourish ourselves in the way we each need.
