It was a pleasure having the Urban League of West Michigan Summer Youth Program visit the Capitol!

We talked about my journey to public service, what it's like serving in the Michigan House, and why representation matters. I hope each student left knowing that their voice is powerful and that leadership is something they can absolutely pursue.

Thank you to the Urban League of West Michigan for creating opportunities that inspire and empower the next generation. I can't wait to see all that these young leaders accomplish!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Election & Transparency Roundtable. We had a great conversation about building trust in our elections, what election transparency looks like, and the many ways each of us can take responsibility as voters.

We talked about being proactive and planning ahead for civic engagement and education in the coming years. How to better inform students about their local government and the impact it has on them, as well as adults.
