We’re excited to share that a new restaurant is headed to downtown Mason. Full details below!
Assembly is coming to the heart of downtown Mason. Haslett native Jacob Welch, a culinary school graduate who spent 8 years at Butcher’s Union and worked his way up to Executive Chef, is returning home to lead Assembly.
We’ll be opening at 402 S. Jefferson St., next door to Kean’s.
Mason has some great spots already. We’re just hoping to add something that feels a little different: a warm, polished place with thoughtful drinks and recognizable food, elevated just enough to feel special without feeling unfamiliar.
I grew up in Mason and recently moved back to raise my family here, so bringing a restaurant to this community means a lot to me and my family personally. Mason is a place we genuinely love, and we’re excited to become part of downtown in a new way.
Assembly is the culmination of everything we’ve learned in this industry, the wins, the mistakes, and the work, brought together into what we believe is our most ambitious and exciting project yet.
We’re grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to build something special for Mason.

Employee taste test.
Smoked Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. We started with a housemade ranch base, topped with mozzarella, smoked pulled chicken from Saddleback BBQ, bacon, a ranch drizzle, and finished with a ranch-seasoned crust.
