Novelist, essayist and playwright James Baldwin was an eloquent and passionate writer ✍️ and civil rights activist.

Baldwin's first novel "Go Tell It on the Mountain", published when he was just 19, was chosen as one of Time magazine's Top 100 All-Time Novels. Themes of race, masculinity, class, and sexuality are integral to many of his essays, short stories and novels.

This month we dedicate a display to Baldwin, a writer, speaker, and icon who was not only charismatic but was also thought provoking.
