“I have a passion for helping people and want to be able to help others who have the same passion and drive as I do.”
As a mental health therapist, Mike Brinkos dedicates himself to serving others. It’s a value he’s built his life around, so creating a legacy plan through the Community Foundation was an opportunity to deepen his commitment to caring for people.

"People think the Community Foundation is just for people. But there's a lot there for animals too. I don't know a lot of people who don't like pets."
Pat Levin has had a lifelong connection to animals. She believes deeply that they're worthy of protection and dignity, often volunteering with organizations like Raven Ridge Wildlife Center. She knows that, while animal welfare is often overlooked in traditional philanthropic circles, it’s a cause that has the potential to unite people. Especially if we care for pets and the people who love them.
That's why Pat established a donor advised fund through the Lancaster County Community Foundation, recognizing her love of animals and community causes. Her fund will contribute to animal rescue and welfare organizations, especially those that are small and under-recognized.

"I encourage people to think about what they think makes Lancaster unique and fabulous and try to support those things."
The Lancaster Central Market is not just a holiday destination. It's the heartbeat of the City of Lancaster. Whether you're shopping for groceries, playing tourist, taking advantage of the After Market program, or grabbing lunch on the go, it has been a beloved part of our local economy and culture since 1730.
During her time working as Market Manager, Jessica Mailhot raised funds to support major renovations of the historic building, including a substantial capital campaign for roof repairs. She quickly recognized that when Market needed funds, the community would step up to help.
But what if she could create a sustainable source of income that Market could rely on and reduce the pressure on fundraising? With a goal of creating a reserve that could grow over time, Jessica created an organizational endowment for the Lancaster Central Market Trust.
