Holistic Prairie Mama

I was a very imaginative child. I loved to pretend and play. As a teen, One of the things I loved the most was writing and making poems. When I dated one boy in high school, he made fun of my writing and I felt I wasn’t good enough and dramatically burned my manuscript along with a photo of us in my Nanny’s rose bushes (very Anne of green Gables) That incident made me feel I wasn’t good enough so I put my passion into Victorian decoupage and other creative work. I could never be a writer.

When I married Papa Tony who is a writer, I felt I could never live up to his gift so I put it on the back burner and let it stew for a while.when I was in my 40’s and became a health coach, I opened my web site and for the first time in years began to enjoy writing blogs. But it was the summer that I went to a Little House 50th reunion that would completely change my life.

Mama Joy had been telling me for yrs to write our story. I didn’t think I could do it. It was Jennifer Donati and Alison Arngrim who told me to go for it. So there I went putting fingers to laptop. Every word was like magic flowing though the pages. And when Prairie Papa proofread it he turned to me and said, Wow. You have such a unique way of writing. And then I remembered Laura was 65 yrs old When her writings were published .

And so my message is this, DO NOT let anybody dim your light! Ever!! Shine bright, brave and believe in your worth. So many are jealous of the Joy that shines from your soul or do not believe in their own gifts.

And at almost 57 yrs old here I am working on my second Draft and thinking about a cookbook as well.

My book is about Longing to have a prairie life Among anxieties and panic , never giving up, and How Little House On the Prairie saved my life. And how it came to be that I was so welcomed by my beautiful prairie family .
