Meet Guest Speaker Pastor Steve Benninger!

Steve graduated from Liberty University in 1983 with a degree in Pastoral Ministries and completed graduate work in Christian Apologetics at Liberty Seminary. In 1985, he helped plant New Life Church in Gahanna, Ohio, and joined the staff full-time five years later. Over the years, he served in multiple pastoral roles, including Singles Pastor, Small Groups Pastor, Discipleship Pastor, and Associate Pastor.

In August 2005, Steve became New Life’s Lead Pastor and Head Elder, a role he cherished for nearly 20 years. During that time, he led the church to plant five new campuses and guided a multi-campus team of over 20 staff, including six full-time pastors. In 2024, Steve transitioned to a new role as Care Pastor, continuing to preach occasionally while supporting the church community in fresh ways.

Steve has been married to Shirley, a true Southern belle from Virginia, since 1983. They have three grown sons—Kent, Chad, and Grant—and love spending time together disc golfing, playing Settlers of Catan, hitting up Chipotle, or tackling escape rooms.

Outside of church, Steve enjoys reading, pickleball, biking, ping-pong, classic car shows, listening to sermons and podcasts, and connecting with fellow pastors. His favorite things? Rocking chairs, fruit smoothies, Chinese food, butterscotch pudding, kettle corn, and quiet mornings with a cup of coffee alongside Shirley.

We’re excited to welcome Pastor Andy Good as our guest speaker this Sunday at Highlands Community Church! 🙌

Born and raised in the Hocking Hills, Andy is a graduate of Ohio Christian University and has served in ministry for many years—first as a Youth Pastor and later as a Pastor. He’s also a founding member of the Southern Gospel group Persuaded and loves sharing joy, laughter, and biblical truth through his preaching and music.

Andy and his wife Margaret live in Logan, where they run their family businesses and enjoy life with their four children—Jacob, Baylee, Kennedy, and Claire.

✨ Meet Our Guest Preacher: Paul Hensley ✨

We’re excited to welcome Paul Hensley as our guest preacher for the next two Sundays at Highlands Community Church! 🙌

Paul is a dedicated ministry leader with over 20 years of experience serving in a variety of roles, including 12 years as a Pastor across two congregations, 2 years as an Associate Pastor, and 2 years as a Chaplain. His ministry has also taken him beyond the church walls—serving in nursing homes, local jails, and even as a missionary in Guatemala.

He currently serves with Prison Fellowship, overseeing ministries across Kentucky and Tennessee. Deeply rooted in his faith, Paul believes the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and strives to live each day in the footsteps of Christ.

We can’t wait to hear the message God has placed on his heart. Join us these next two Sundays—you won’t want to miss it! 💙
