We were so honored to join the Kennett Square community for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the revitalized Birch St! 🌳

Thank you to the Kennett Trails Alliance and Square Roots Collective, and all who made this transformation possible. 🤝It was a joy to join local businesses to welcome the public to the new space!

We serve dozens of men overcoming homelessness out of our Kennett Square housing every year and are grateful for the support of our community who allows it all to happen.

✨Here’s to brighter futures on Birch St!

🚨DONATION NEED 🚨

We need a new washing machine! The washer at one of our Ephrata locations has reached the end of its life, and we are looking for a replacement.

Want to step in and save the day for our participants who call the building home? Donate the washer itself or the monetary value to purchase a new one by emailing [email protected].

Thank you for caring for your neighbors working hard to overcome homelessness! 🧡💙

A big thanks to these students from the Renaissance Academy who rolled up their sleeves and put some hard work into beatifying the parking lot across from our High St. properties!

We love seeing young people step up to serve their neighbors facing homelessness. 🧡💙

Let’s break some stereotypes 💥Loudness is not always what we think it is.

Because of their environment, those raised in poverty may have a tendency to speak at a louder volume than those raised in a middle-class or wealthier home. 🔉

Of course, there are exceptions to this, but it brings up an important question: When interacting with those who come from a different background than us, how does our experience shape how we view those around us?

🧡 Let’s listen well and respond with compassion instead of judgment as we love our neighbors in need.

🎓After facing homelessness, navigating independent living in the community can feel new and overwhelming. So even after our participants graduate and reach stability, we continue to check in on them at various intervals to ensure they have what they need to keep thriving!

In May alone, our staff reached out to 232 individuals via phone call, text, or email. ✨However small, this contact shows our participants that there is still someone cheering them on.

We want those we serve to thrive in every area of their life, long after they leave Good Sam!🤝

When a volunteer group wrote this birthday card, they had no idea the impact it would have. 🎉

Angie came into a case management meeting one day, overwhelmed and sad. She has been working hard to reach stability through our Supportive Housing program, a process that is far from easy.

The week had been extra hard. Her birthday had come and gone without anyone acknowledging it. As someone who always makes sure people are celebrated, it left her feeling sad and overlooked.

But our staff had something special to give her, a birthday card signed and written for her by volunteers from a local church. They wrote her a personalized card AND chose one with a cat, her favorite animal. She immediately broke down in tears.

She felt seen. 💙

A month later, Angie still carries the card in her purse because of how much it meant to her, a reminder of how the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. ✨
