If you are estimating with pen and paper or using unit costs how are you keeping up with price updates?
A computerized system such as I use; Trimble Autobid mechanical with Trade Service price updates is the only way to produce accurate bids.
Suppose one of your GC's call you on a bid you gave them 2 months ago and wants to award you the contract and start the job.
Do you get all excited and take the job?
With a couple minutes of re-summarizing any estimate I did in the past I can bring it up to current costs! Fixtures and equipment quotes would also need to be updated from your vendors.
