A few years back, asked me if I would a church planting coach for & . I had no idea what that would entail but if anything, I figured I could tell them what not to do.

Over the course of the following year, we met monthly via zoom to discuss their discernment process of relocating to Philly to plant what would later become One City in Fishtown. I was also honored to be on their board as they built in house leaders.

Ironically enough, Shaun, Krissy and I never met in real life, until today when I met Shaun at his job while I was in Philly for my job. Covo pastor meetup - love to see it. Still excited to meet Krissy (and the kids) one day.

I am incredibly encouraged at the disciple making journey they’re on, and honored to be a small part of one church expression that God is building in the great city of Philadelphia.

By 30 years old, you have at least one story of a time when someone you admired let you down.

By 40 years old, you have at least one story of a time when you let someone down who admired you.

Not to brag but I just autographed my first book.

I spent most of my adult life in one of the most transient cities in the world.

For context, most of the apartments we lived in, we had new neighbors every few months.

No matter how many times you hear, “we are moving” it stung.

I no longer live in New Work and live somewhere much more stable.

There's a family we have gotten to know and tonight the mom told me they were moving.

My heart sunk. I couldn’t believe it.

Thankfully, they’re just moving across town, but still. I was shocked at my response.

The body keeps score.
