Lakeside Fire Protection District

As we approach the Fourth of July, the Lakeside Fire Protection District is joining CAL FIRE and our local partners in reminding our community that all fireworks are illegal in San Diego County.

Fireworks purchased online, from roadside stands, or brought in from out of state are illegal and can result in fines of up to $50,000 and one year in jail.

Every year, illegal fireworks cause devastating fires and serious injuries. The safest way to celebrate is by attending a licensed public fireworks display and leaving the fireworks to the professionals.

If you need to report the use of illegal fireworks, please do not call 9-1-1 unless there is an active fire or other emergency. Instead, use the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Non-Emergency line at (858) 868-3200.

Today, we are proud to recognize Firefighter/Paramedic Shannon Johnson on his 10 year anniversary with the District.
Over the past decade, Shannon has served our community with dedication and professionalism. His hard work, dependability, and positive attitude have made a meaningful impact on both the District and those he serves.

Today we recognize Firefighter/Paramedic Cameron Johnson for successfully completing his one year probationary period with the District.
Probation is more than just a milestone, it is a reflection of the hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance required to earn a place in the fire service. Cameron has embraced every opportunity to learn and grow, and we are proud to have him as a member of our fire family.
