Cannabis rescheduling is changing the conversation.
Data quality, documentation, and defensibility are moving from “best practice” to baseline expectations.

We’re thrilled to see Modern Canna highlighted in the latest issue of HortScience, published by the American Society for Horticultural Science. The article explores plant uptake of Arsenic, Cadmium, and Lead by h**p - themes closely aligned with our work at Modern Canna.
We’d like to thank the authors and collaborators, especially University of Florida for including our work in this important contribution to cannabis science. It’s a privilege to support research that helps shape the future of the industry with scientific integrity and data transparency at its core.
This acknowledgment reflects our dedication to scientific rigor, transparency, and upholding the highest standards in cannabis testing. It reinforces our mission to deliver reliable, defensible data that empowers growers, researchers, and regulators.

Emotional intelligence (EQ) isn’t just a buzzword - it’s essential for workplace success. Ways to practice EQ and create a more positive, productive work environment:
🟢 Show Empathy - Put yourself in others’ shoes. Instead of trying to “fix” people, seek to understand their perspective. A little empathy goes a long way in building strong relationships.
🔵 Give Trust to Earn Trust - Assume good intentions and extend trust first. People are more likely to reciprocate trust when they feel trusted. Of course, verify if needed, but start with confidence in others.
🟢 Pause Before Reacting - Take a breath before responding to situations. Strong emotions can cloud judgment, so stop, think, and then react with logic and clarity.
🔵 Own Your Mistakes - No one is perfect! Admitting when you’re wrong isn’t a weakness - it’s a sign of authenticity and strength. Owning up to mistakes builds credibility and respect.
🟢 Say “Thank You” - Gratitude is powerful! A simple “thank you” can boost morale and help colleagues feel valued for their contributions. Recognition fosters a positive work culture.
🔵 Lift Others Up - Support and empower your coworkers. Their success doesn’t take away from yours - when they thrive, the whole team wins!
🟢 Keep Your Promises - Reliability builds trust. Follow through on your commitments to strengthen relationships and show you’re someone people can count on.

The election results weren’t what we’d hoped for. However, we are very proud of how hard we fought. We organized fundraisers, collaborated with reporters, distributed merchandise, educated and spoke at public events, and tirelessly countered misleading information from the opposition - doing everything we could.
Thank you to everyone who voted Yes On 3 and helped educate friends and family about adult use legalization. With 56% of Floridians voting in favor of 3, it’s clear that the majority of the state supports adult use.
The 60% threshold needed to pass a constitutional amendment in Florida, along with strong opposition spreading misinformation, created a challenging path forward. The good news is, now the opposition has to back up their claims, since a lot of their concerns centered around the amendment’s wording, not adult use itself. The majority of voters voted in favor of Amendment 3 and that cannot be ignored.
Adult use legalization happening in Florida isn’t a question of “if” it’s a question of “when”. With 56% already in favor, we have a strong foundation to continue pushing.
There are some positives in the outcome: Our hope is that the governor’s office will now embrace and support the medical program more actively. Also, for licensed operators, this means less competition flooding the market, allowing current operators more room to expand. Another positive outcome is that this election highlighted the importance of regulated, clean, and lab-tested cannabis and cannabis-derivative products.
Unfortunately, the real loss here is for the people - the majority of Florida voters who voted for this change.
Again, a big thank you to everyone who supported Amendment 3. We didn’t achieve the outcome we wanted this time, but we will be back 💪
Onward 🚀
