This is a term that you may have heard before. An engine compression test or often referred to as just "compression test" is a test to get an indepth look at whats going on internally inside your engine.👩‍🔬 This is not a DIY type of thing.

Its important to know that your engines performance is based on 4 factors: air/fuel mixture, spark, timing and compression. Most vehicles compression numbers need to be 125-175 PSI.

ᴡʜᴇɴ ɪꜱ ᴀ ᴄᴏᴍᴘʀᴇꜱꜱɪᴏɴ ᴛᴇꜱᴛ ᴀ ɢᴏᴏᴅ ɪᴅᴇᴀ?
▪️Starting issue
▪️Poor fuel economy or increased oil consumption
▪️Unexplainable loss of power
▪️Excessive crank case pressure

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ɪᴛ ᴍᴇᴀɴ?
⚙️If you have low compression on 1 cylinder this could indicate a piston ring issue
⚙️Low compression on 2 adjacent cylinders could indicate a blown head gasket
⚙️Low compression on ALL cylinders indicates a valve timing issue
