What a wonderful way to celebrate the 250th Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Our community enjoyed participating in the Lake Forest Fourth of July Parade before gathering together for a delicious barbecue prepared by our incredible culinary team. It was a day filled with patriotism, great food, and even greater company.

Happy 250th Independence Day from all of us at Freedom Village!

Jeanette recently celebrated her one-year anniversary at Freedom Village and has quickly become an active part of the community. Originally from Walla Walla, Washington, she has lived throughout the Pacific Northwest and Southern California, and has traveled extensively across Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, and the United States.

After spending 30 years as a pastor’s wife and 8 years as a surgery liaison with Kaiser Hospital, Jeanette is now enjoying this chapter of life surrounded by friends, family, and new experiences. You can find her participating in the Sunshine Club, taking art classes, playing Bingo, and serving as Vice President of the Resident Council.

When asked what she enjoys most about Freedom Village, Jeanette shared, “The friendliness and casualness of it. It feels like home—and the food is excellent!”

We’re grateful to have Jeanette as part of our community. 💙

Gardening is a wonderful activity for individuals with dementia.

Offering opportunities for sensory engagement, gentle physical activity, social connection and a sense of accomplishment. Most importantly, it brings our community together as we work towards a shared goal and create something beautiful side-by-side. 🌱🤝
