Jim has been doing well the past few days. We actually took him to the hospital on July 25th and he was admitted for cellulitis. Dr. W started Jim on antibiotics and wanted to observe him overnight. Because there was no bad reaction to the antibiotics Jim was discharged the next day. The cellulitis has cleared up. We are still having a few issues with Jims skin graph. But we are able to take care of them at home as they come up. Jim's pulmonary Dr. changed the bilevel vent setting. So Jim is sleeping better through the night. We are working on getting Jims wheel chair seats changed out. Once we get the seating changed we can start Sky therapy again. The repair is taking so long because of paperwork with the DME and insurance. We have made a lot of phone calls to both places. I think we have everything straightened out but I will call on Monday just to be sure.
Jim was admitted to the hospital yesterday. We thought he had an infection from the trach turns out to be the beginning of pneumonia. The Drs want to keep him a few days to be sure it clears up.
Jimmy went to see Dr. V the ENT yesterday. The Dr. scoped the trach and was happy with what he saw. No trauma and no scarring. He wants Jimmy to use an uncuffed trach but will leave that up to the pulmonary Dr. and RT. The last few days Jimmy has been getting agitated but then it goes away. In one week it will the 6th year of his accident. It will be a long week. We want to thank everyone for their continued support and love for Jimmy .
