It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of one of our dear friends. Mr. Eddie Andrews, age 53, was a beloved regular guest at Room in the Inn over the last 3 years.
Mr. Eddie was a life long resident of Lake Charles and was known by many. He was a quiet man, who like many, suffered with mental health issues. He was always kind to me and I’m thankful for him letting me be a part of his life. I enjoyed getting to know him and his many splendid stories he could tell. He loved the Dallas Cowboys football team, he loved to dress nicely in suits and dress shoes, he loved coffee (with lots of sugar!), he loved horses, loved onion rings, and he loved God too. I think he knew that we all loved him too.
Most recently Mr Eddie’s health had declined, he was hospitalized for over a week and we were very worried about him. He was discharged last week and unfortunately found unresponsive yesterday evening at a bus stop which he was known to sleep at.
I’m grateful for having known Mr. Eddie and all he taught me. I know I share this loss with all our RITI churches and volunteers who grew to love Mr Eddie.
May you rest in the arms of our loving Lord and ride those horses you always dream of!! 💔

I only got a couple of photos from COTK’s last RITI host night. Someone blessed the homeless with a bunch of reading glasses and they were so very appreciative! We also just took one of our guests for an eyeglass exam. She was so thankful because she can’t even see to fill out an employment application. It’s sometimes the little things we take for granted.
Thank you to everyone who continue to bless our ministry with your time, talent and donations. ❤️
