Free To Be Real

Hey, local friends!
What a way to make a big impact.
Albertsons has their Chef Boyardee pastas on sale today 6/26 and tomorrow for .50. When we start our weekend feeding program back up in the fall we will be using about 1400 of these a week. There is a limit of 10. We can use any of the variety’s. If you don’t use these at your home, we sure would appreciate you picking up some for our Food for Thought program. You can drop them off on the porch of our building at 1631 West Sale Road or at Lake Charles Toyota. If you would rather support us with a monetary donation you can do that by going to our website

After 10 years of pouring out, building, gathering, and growing, we feel the Lord inviting Free to be Real into something different for 2026.
A Sabbath year. ⚔️
Not because anything is wrong but because something deeper is being formed through the refining.
In Scripture, God called His people to let the land rest (Leviticus 25). God was asking them to trust that even in the pause, He was still providing, still working, and still preparing what was next. 📈
This biblical blueprint is what this year will be for us. A Sabbath year to trust, walk in obedience, and tend the ground F2BR was built on.
A year to:
– rest
– receive
– recalibrate
For those of you who attended F2BR 2025, you know I shared some deeply personal things, so this season holds a lot of transition for me, and I sense clearly that I’m being invited to tend to a personal reset, deep spiritual heart work, and ministry evolution. 🐝
And here’s the beautiful part…
I don’t believe this is the end of anything.
I believe it’s the cultivation of something sweeter. Acceleration is at hand. 🌟
> “Taste and see that the Lord is good…” — Psalm 34 34:8
> “I would satisfy you with honey from the rock.” — Psalm 81 81:16
So we’re trusting that 2026 is where the hidden honey forms… 🍯
and in 2027, we’ll come back richer, deeper, and carrying a sweetness that could only come from Him.
If you’ve been watching from the outside and feel drawn to what God is doing through Free to be Real, we would love to invite you into whatever He has for us in the next chapter. 📖
We may be resting publicly and privately… but God is still building the team.
If you’re interested in being part of what’s ahead, send us a message or email us ([email protected]). 🤍
The ground may be quiet but God is cultivating in the quiet.
Something is growing. Something sweet is coming. 💛

That’s on them.
I think one of the hardest things, at least for me, is to allow someone to have a bad opinion of me. I want to defend myself. I want to explain why they’re wrong. I want to convince them that I’m a decent person and I am worth liking.
I don’t want my reputation left in their hands, because their hands are fickle.
But the truth is. The very, very hard-to-swallow truth is that I’m not in control of their opinions about me. I’m not in control of the view they have of me, the light they choose to see me through and unfortunately, even what they say about me to others.
Peace is letting go.
Peace is accepting that they’re entitled to their feelings about me.
They have every right to not like me. They have every right to not choose me, to not invite me or to label me as the villain, the bad guy, or whatever else they want. They don’t have to forgive me, give me grace or even attempt to understand my point of view.
But at the end of the day, the thing is, my reputation is who they think I am—whatever version of me they have created in their mind. It may be about me. It may involve me, but it’s not really mine to hold.
My character, however, is who I actually am.
My character belongs to me and me alone, and I take it seriously, so I guess they can have their perceptions and they can have their own ideas about who I am and why I do what I do. I release their opinions about me, but I hold tight to my peace.
We all have to take responsibility for the words we write. That’s on us, but we don’t have to exhaust ourselves trying to be responsible for the way people choose to read them. That’s on them.
Love,
Amy
