We may get older, but some things are called timeless for a reason. These days, mass exposure means nothing. Whenever it comes to classics in music, if anything, we should be recognizing the apparent fact that the only way to make it mainstream is to get played in the degenerate games at Puff Diddley's after parties. So word on the streets is that they aren't playing whenever they say you earn that exposure, and it's an entitlement that comes with winning awards or topping billboards; but the truec price tag is not knowledge that the average joe is privy to. And much higher than you can afford with any amount of talent, determination, or drive to find long-term success in That World.. & with privatized penitentiaries having bought the entire genre of rap music during the nineties, it's looking more and more like being a local rapper comes with a big target on your back that says something about Malibu's Most Wanted for 99.985% of Caucasian males and 103.5% of females, who would be consider unattractive on average by the general public.. so honestly, you can be the best in the world at poetry and still get laughed at fire peers. Unless you can afford to buy all the beers because the radios paying you for plays. At that point you don't get to make the decisions about which of your songs get promoted while a subsidiary of universal music is telling you what you can
Make music about while you get to keep a secret about what you really did to lock in the guaranteed success in that trade, did so many probably some ashamed of that it feels like a loss in the end...
So that would make the locals getting no respect and probably laughed were the real winners the whole time on rap's side of the music industry!
