6/2/26: New equipment delivery deliveries.
Maplewood took delivery of brand new MSA firefighter breathing apparatus, a Rapid Intervention pack and a FAST board. Fast is an acronym for Firefighter Assist and Search Team, the RIT pack and Fast board are used to rescue a downed firefighter or civilian.
this tremendous upgrade in equipment was made possible through Pennsylvania State representative Jeff Olsommer with a state grant in excess of $68,000 dollars. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to receive this new equipment, which will allow Maplewood Firefighters to have the most advanced and safe equipment available to best serve our communities, the residents and our fellow firefighters.
We would also like to thank Witmer public safety group and our sales representative Rob Stitzer for working with us on this project. We also refilled our breathing air cascade trailer at Honesdale fire department Engine 3. We appreciate Fire Chief Steve Bates for always accommodating us with their cascade system to refill ours.

It was an incredible turnout, a lot of gorgeous big rigs and pickups.
Maplewood would like to thank all the wonderful people that stopped by to check out our “Ace of Diamonds” and take a picture, we greatly appreciate all the compliments.
We were glad to see the many children who wanted to sit behind the wheel and receive a fire prevention sticker.
