We have a driveway!🥰✨

Getting to the back of the property has not been easy until now! In the next few months, the hubby will be starting to build a thing or two!❤️🏠

I adore my guineas! ❤️

This creature is hands down the most chaotic animal on the farm 😂

Guineas originally come from Africa, where they roam around eating insects, seeds, weeds, snakes, ticks, and pretty much anything else they can fit in their little dinosaur mouths. Farmers love them because they’re excellent tick control, they sound the alarm whenever something unusual happens, and they’re hardy birds that don’t require a lot of special care.

Now let me tell you what the brochures leave out.

These birds are absolute jerks.

They spend their entire day screaming about things that don’t matter. A leaf blows across the yard? Emergency. A squirrel exists? Emergency. The mailman drives by three miles away? DEFCON 1.

They pick fights with chickens, harass the ducks, insult the dogs, will fight a whole grown human, and somehow manage to make every other animal on the farm question its life choices.

If one guinea decides to run across the road, the others will immediately follow without asking a single question. There is no leadership. There is no strategy. There is only chaos.

And yet…they’re oddly useful.

Our guineas eat ticks by the thousands, patrol the farm like tiny feathered security guards, and alert us to visitors long before anyone reaches the driveway. They’re terrible employees but excellent alarm systems.

So if you ever hear a loud, frantic racket coming from our farm, don’t worry. Nothing is wrong.

The guineas have simply spotted something suspicious.

Like a butterfly.

Or a cloud.

Or each other.

LONG POST AHEAD!

First of all— I want to apologize to those that I haven’t responded to lately. The last few weeks have been filled with unexpected news, zero energy, and lots of relying on my hubby to do all my chores. 🐓

WE’RE PREGNANT!🍼🍼
And I don’t mean an animal on the homestead. I mean ME. With baby girl #3!🎀 This pregnancy has been rougher on my body than the last two, and it has slowed me down more than I could’ve imagined it would. I haven’t been able to restock products like I want to, but given the health issues I faced during my last pregnancy, I’m committed to taking it slow & listening to my body to ensure a healthy baby (& mama) at the end of these nine months. 🩷

In addition to skin care— our hens have significantly slowed down laying eggs. This hot weather works a lot like the cold, and my girls spend their time trying to stay cool rather than producing our breakfast. We literally only collected 4 eggs today, and I have well over 25 laying hens.😭 As soon as they begin to pick up, I’ll be sure to fill as many egg orders as possible.

I think me and the hens can agree on one thing— it’s too hot to be stressing over the little things right now! 🥵🤣

In all seriousness, your prayers are greatly appreciated during these upcoming weeks of pregnancy. 🙏 I’m a go-getter, and I can’t stand being so behind on things! BUT— I’m trying to take James’ advice and count it all JOY!💕

Today was a very bittersweet day — after 13 years, I worked my final day at my office job. ❤️

I’m officially a stay-at-home mama.

This wasn’t a quick or easy decision. My husband and I spent months praying over it, asking for wisdom and peace. Through it all, the Lord has continued to remind me that He is our provider and protector. Even with all the emotions that come with such a big life change, I already feel so much peace knowing I’ll get to spend my days at home with my babies.

One thing I’m especially excited about is having more time to pour into this little homestead business of mine — restocking products, creating new recipes, and continuing to make natural skincare products for your families.

And trust me… I already have a few new things up my sleeve 👀✨

Keep an eye out this weekend! 🤍

So far my hubby has spent the last 36 hours clearing our land for our house and his shop!

I’m in complete awe.

It’s actually starting to feel real, y’all. ❤️

It’s been a little quiet around here lately, but big things are finally starting to happen! 🌿🏡

We officially have an address, all of our permits approved, and we’re ready to begin clearing land and working on our little piece of paradise!

This property already means so much to us, and we have so many dreams and plans for it. More than anything, we’re praying that our vision aligns with what the Lord has in store for this land and our family. 🤍

Later this week, equipment will start arriving so we can begin the first BIG step of this journey — and it’s finally starting to feel real.

We can’t wait to share the process, the ups and downs, and everything we learn along the way. Thank you for following along as we build this life from the ground up. 🌾✨
