This afternoon, FF Raters, FF McKinsey and Tanker 6 were busy filling water barricades for tonight's block party fundraiser hosted by MatchBOX Coworking Studio. These water-filled barriers help create a safer environment for attendees by supporting traffic control and event safety. 💧

Station 9 B Shift recently completed a memorial wall honoring our fallen firefighters.

This memorial carries special meaning, as Station 9 was the home of our recently fallen brother, Sgt. Robinson.
Displayed on the wall is a photograph from Sgt. Robinson’s funeral. A powerful reminder of his sacrifice, his service, and the lasting impact he made on our department.

A sincere thank you to the members of Station 9 for creating this beautiful display and for the pride you have taken in honoring those who came before us. Your commitment to preserving their legacy ensures they will never be forgotten.

As the celebrations continue, please, please use caution and make good choices! As always, we are here for you when you need us.

After 8:00 PM last night, the Lafayette Fire Department responded to more than 20 emergency calls, including structure fires, vehicle fires, dumpster fires, trash and trash can fires, grass fires, and medical emergencies.

As many Independence Day celebrations come to an end, this is an important reminder to make sure your fireworks are completely extinguished before disposing of them. Even fireworks that appear to be out can retain enough heat to ignite trash, mulch, or other combustible materials hours later.

A few extra minutes spent soaking used fireworks with water and ensuring they are cold to the touch can help prevent unnecessary fires and keep our community safe.

LFD offers our deepest condolences to the Denison Township Fire Protection District in St. Francisville, Illinois on the loss of FF Bob Johnson over this holiday weekend.

Thoughts and prayers are with our mutual aid partners at Denison Township Fire Protection District in St. Francisville, Illinois.

🚒🥖 Congratulations to the crew of B-Shift Quint 5 for bringing home the win at the Wawa Grand Opening Hoagie Building Contest today!

Our firefighters put their sandwich-making skills to the test and earned first place, showcasing great teamwork both inside and outside the firehouse.

As part of the event, the Lafayette Fire Support Foundation received a generous $1,000 donation from Wawa for participating. These funds will help support programs and initiatives that benefit our firefighters and the community we proudly serve.
