Thank you for honoring those in the real estate industry who go above and beyond. is right: collaboration is everything, and we are better together. I can say that is definitely true as a former realtor and it is equally true in the title industry. I support and collaborate with my friends in title frequently, and without that network, we would not be as strong or as successful.

A few weeks ago, I welcomed a new decade of this beautiful life. While the number seemed difficult to stomach at first, I realized that every year behind me has afforded me with growth, wisdom, and new and more meaningful opportunities. My life is fuller and busier than I have ever been. I am in constant motion from sun up to well beyond sundown before I can lay my head down at night tending to my three beautiful blessings, my husband, my clients, my job, and all the chores, errands, and demands of a household in between. It’s chaotic, it’s mentally exhausting, and at the end of the day all abundantly blessed.

I waited to post any type of reflection, and I am glad that I waited. You see over the past several days I have not been able to kick the anguish I feel over the sudden loss of life in Texas, over the moms and dads who dropped off happy, healthy and excited children to camp, who are now learning that it was in fact their last hurrah, over the stories of families on vacation holding onto their children with every last ounce of strength they had, over stories of resilience and heroism and defying the odds. It has all been too much and a stark reminder that we are only granted this life for a short while; that we are only granted our children’s lives for a short while. Nothing is guaranteed.

So every day that I get to put my feet on the floor in the morning and hug my children, kiss my husband, and work for the betterment of my community, I remain eternally blessed. I am so grateful to walk into my 40s surrounded by family and friends who go above and beyond to be there for me. I hope I can return the favors 100 fold in the coming years. To my village, my clients, my community, and my precious family, thank you for allowing me to walk through the peaks and valleys of this life with you. I love this life God has granted me.

It is Derby weekend which always reminds me of my grandfather. You see, he was intimately involved in the success and the turnaround of the horse racing industry in Louisiana by guiding Evangeline Downs out of bankruptcy in the 90s. He also loved the races, and lived to see three triple crown winners live, including Secretariat! He also loved horses and in his early days was known to ride his own horse, Dina, from Iota all the way to Rayne. He was a very gentle soul, a wise man, a generous steward, and yes, a lover of horses. So on this Derby weekend I raise my mint julep to him. He liked to paraphrase the quote from Alice and Wonderland which said, "If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there."

I would be more than honored to get you to the finish line. And if you don't know where you are going, remember that any road will surely get you there. I would be more than happy to help be your guide.
