From its start in 1890 as Elitch’s Zoological Gardens—a mix of gardens, zoo, and theater—Elitch Gardens has been a Denver tradition for generations. It later grew into one of the nation’s first amusement parks, famous for its wooden roller coasters and summer entertainment.

After nearly a century in North Denver, the park relocated downtown in 1995, where it still thrills crowds today as Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park, a landmark of fun in the Mile High City.
