Morning Briefing 6/11/26:
Get ready for the hot/humid/pop up shower forecasts to start dominating. We've got a round of that today with highs hitting around 91 in the afternoon and the heat index pushing closer to 100. Rain chances are minimal, although this time of year you can never rule out one or two given the amount of moisture.
Similar weather is expected Friday and Saturday so we we won't spend much time there, and instead focus on the end of the weekend.
A surge of moisture is going to push into the southern Gulf and into the Texas coastline. The NHC has the area highlighted and we'll monitor it but conditions for development do not look favorable. What we will watch for is that moisture spreading north into Louisiana by Sunday evening and sparking plenty of showers and storms.
Wet weather looks like it will pick up late Sunday and continue on and off through the start of next week. It's a little early to talk rain totals but safe to say we'll get at least a couple of inches by the middle of the week. If we get any issues from this it will be in the form of heavy showers, and we'll have to keep an eye out for some flooding. The good news though is this will help with some of those temperatures.
