When you consider that "War Pigs" and "Iron Man" came out just 10 years after "The Twist" and "Itsy Bitsy Teenie We**ie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" owned the airwaves, you have to step back and appreciate just how much changed between 1960 and 1970 and how much of a cultural gearshift Ozzy Osbourne was.

Ozzy made it okay to sound angry, paranoid, depressed and apocalyptic at a time when it wasnt acceptableto mention such things. Its hard to overstate what he meant not just to music, but to the Overton window of culture.

I cant help but think of the line from Paranoid "I tell you to enjoy life. I wish I could but it's too late."

My Songwriting class was blessed today by a visit from writers Mark Sherrill, Bo Roberts & Chad Wilson. What an honor to have these songwriting legends on campus at today. My students were certainly enriched, o say the least.
