Turning Point Acupuncture
11/11/2020
Now that the cold weather has returned I want to remind everyone the importance of wearing some form of a neck warmer. There is a acupuncture point we call Du-14, it is between your 7th cervical vertebra and the 1st thoracic vertebra. It is a location were heat or cold gathers, gaining entry into the body. Think about how a cool wet cloth feels on a hot summer day when placed on your neck, the same applies on a cold winter day. For anyone who has chronic neck pain and especially if you have had neck surgery, keeping Du-14 warm is very important. Scarves, neck gaiters, turtlenecks all work well for covering this sensitive area.
