I want to first congratulate my opponent, Brad Bray. I have nothing but respect for someone who has served their community for so many years in so many various capacities.
I was prepped early on that the most important thing to remember is that I wasn’t running against Brad Bray. I was running against the guy who calls the shots. I was also prepared from the start that chances of winning in this county were slim. I accepted the nomination with my eyes wide open. I did it for my dad and out of a promise I made to the factory workers so many years ago. I didn’t lose last night. You can only lose if you don’t get in the ring and fight. I’ve been in the ring for the last 15 yrs and have no intentions of getting out. I will continue to be a local activist and advocate for the people of this community to hold the line for justice and those “yes” people that sit in front of those padding their pockets. The safety, health and sustainability of our community depends on it.
Most importantly, I want to thank all my supporters and those who stepped out of their comfort zone to support and vote for me.
Big love to my favorite Republican Glenda Meyers, who was not only my treasurer but advisor and kept me in line. I assure you that a local clean sweep of another kind is forthcoming that the long arm of Indiana corruption won’t be able to hold back.

Shady Solar-Greetown
I spoke with a resident who said that they were first contacted in 2019 about the possible solar project near their home. In 2019-2022 there is a sitting commissioner who is also a realtor. This audio is from last week. You will hear him say how he hit the ground running and researching the effects it would have on home values and found none. You will also hear him tell this Muncie community that Greentown’s solar project has met all approvals and construction will begin in 3-6 months. The project per a current commissioner still has to go through drainage board, planning commission and back to commissioners for a final vote. I encourage you to watch last nights commissioner meeting and their reactions when a resident played this for them.
Is this another rubber stamped deal that the public will find out has been passed behind the scenes?
Does this former commissioner know something we don’t ?
Keep in mind that a BZA member was removed for voting no and giving his professional opinion on home values as a home builder but yet here we are again with special rules for special people when it benefits them.
Cast your vote for the people who will stand and say No and hold the line for you and I !

The Battery Plant
I’m going to list some items that alerted red flags for me when this announcement came about and they should you to. It’s time to ask the questions that make some uncomfortable.

This is a quote from May 2022 from Stellantis CEO.

“Battery plants do not spring up overnight, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares told a small group of media. They require many permits, specific building design and services, and are reliant on equipment that must be ordered well in advance, mostly from China.”

https://www.motortrend.com/news/stellantis-samsung-kokomo-indiana-battery-plant-evs/

-This tells us that this was in the works a lot longer than we knew. I found one article where an Illinois Senator let it slip that Illinois was one of the states being considered for the location in early 2021.
-October 2021, Samsung and Stellantis announced a joint venture
-May 2022, the Governor who is also Board President of IEDC announced the 2.5 billion investment to build the battery plant in Kokomo. IEDC can do what they want if the investment is over 2 billion and they don’t have to tell us. The IEDC Board consists of elite business owners that are handpicked by the governor.
-The photo I include shows the 142 acres where it is to be located as stated in May 2022.
RED FLAGS
Who arranged for the sale of this 142 acres ?
Who handled the real estate transactions?
Was commission paid ?
Who handled the title work and closing ?
These are documents that need to be made available to the public.
This 142 acres would have been purchased in early 2022. We had a sitting Mayor that owned a Title Co. until mid summer and a sitting Commissioner who is a realtor. These are legit questions and the records should be made available for the public instead of addresses being changed and Beacon scrubbed clean of any information. The following is not accusatory. It’s just a copy of an Indiana Code.

A public servant who knowingly or intentionally; (1) has a pecuniary interest in; (2) or derives a profit from, a contract or purchase connected with an action by the government entity served by the public servant, commits conflict of interest, a Level 6 felony. IC 35-44.1-1-4

In the last 6 months to a year, IEDC has made 21 more land purchases totaling around 300 acres at the “battery farm” as it is referred to.

What is all that land for ?
Who’s making the deals ?
Where is the local transparency?
The State Auditor cited the City and County in audit reports from 2021, 2022 for not having a policy in place to prevent kickbacks and improperly recorded land transactions.
These records are available online.

Vote for Transparency and Accountability!

We have important issues locally. Vote for change and to have your voice heard! I’ve been out here speaking with folks in the community for weeks. Their concerns are all the same. No transparency. The number one thing I’ve heard is that there is no transparency and no accountability to the people of this community. The people believe decisions are made prior to meetings. Decisions that affect us as residents. I believe the trash ordinance last week made that evident. The Battery Plant has been a huge concern and also a big lack of transparency as well as the Solar Farm out near Greentown. I’m going to share in subsequent posts some of the research I’ve done in these areas and others as well as to what I’ve learned. I’m not a politician. I accepted this nomination to have a seat at the table for you and I, to call out discrepancies, question agendas that affect the health, safety and sustainability of our community and stand firm on a “No” vote when those things aren’t transparent and in line. I watched the council meeting live and no citizen should ever be cut short at the podium when voicing their concerns. I see that too often. Our elected officials are up there because they were voted in by those who trusted them to listen and do the right thing. As a local environmental activist, I have learned we have a contamination of another kind in our town. One that is self serving and unethical.
Thank you to all those who have supported me in this race and especially big love and thanks to my republican treasurer, Glenda Meyers for always keeping me in line ❤️

The first reading passed 5-4. Make sure you show up at the next vote. Voters this is why it is important to show up at the polls Nov. 5th. We are not going to have a change in our community until we vote the “yes” men out. The Mayor took blame, saying it was on him and the council didn’t know. That was an election tactic so voters didn’t get angry. Vote these handpicked yes people out.

The Kokomo Common Council is about to convene before a full house as it considers a $10 trash fee proposed by the administration of Mayor Tyler Moore.
The Kokomo Lantern will provide coverage of the proceedings in the morning.
