I could throw out all kinds of clichés, but I'll just say it's been a heck of a ride. It's time for me to move on to the next chapter. Racing has been a dream come true for me. I never could have imagined being able to race at Knoxville, let alone stand in victory lane. I've been blessed to hop behind the wheel of a race car, for over 20 years. I've met so many great people along my racing journey, from fans, to racers, to chassis makers, part manufacturers and race track personnel/announcers. I love this sport so much. I will always love watching and you'll still see me attending races. I'm even open to hoping behind a modified, if the opportunity arises but for now, I'm done owning a race car. Again, thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I have been so blessed.

Today, Audrey’s son turned 16! He has been watching Clayton race at Spencer, for years, without even knowing he would be his Stepdad, one day. Life is crazy and beautiful. Happy sweet 16, RJ!

Unfortunately, I took a hard hit last night. It was all my fault, my error. The night started off ok in qualifying, as I took my first ever timed qualifying laps. I felt really smooth on the 2nd lap but I didn't have the right gear in to get enough speed. We changed gears for the heat and the car came to life. I moved up 1 postion to finish 6th, landing a 3rd place starting spot in the B feature. Slipped back 2 spots in B, but felt we could have possibly gotten back up to 4th. I was trying to be really aggressive, diving to the bottom when I jumped the inside berm, which sent me into the air and I slammed right into the outside wall. Such a bummer. I'm happy to say, it felt like every time we hit the track, we were improving. I really felt like we were in the game and competitive. It was really fun, up until it wasn't. We will get things put back together and try again. Things can't always be sunshine and rainbows.

Well, we were really hoping we could race at Park Jefferson tonight, but also happy we could actually be in the field, getting a little work done before the rain comes again.
