There will be a New World Screwworm Producer Update on Monday, July 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the Harper Park Community Center.

This free program is open to the public and will feature presentations from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Gillespie Livestock Auction, and Dr. Pat O'Neil of Pedernales Veterinary Clinic. This program will cover how to recognize screwworm symptoms, treatment options, proactive herd management practices, animal movement in and outside of the infestation zone, current livestock market updates, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a speaker panel.

On June 22, an infested zone was established in Terrell County, Texas in association with a NWS detection in a goat. The infested zone expands into portions of Terrell and Pecos Counties.
