The Four P’ of cold weather. PEOPLE, PETS, plants and pipes.

Please check on the elderly, disabled or vulnerable people in your life/area. Make sure they have heat, RX, groceries spend a little time with them or at the least call and speak with them. The people could be family, friends, acquaintances or the homeless.

Pets, NO pets needs to be in the cold for extended periods. If you see anyone that has their dog chained up or in a pen with no shelter ( honestly don’t get me started on what’s wrong with that statement) offer to help with straw, elevated bedding, wind barrier or call authorities (they probably won’t do anything) I’m cynical on the topic.

I’ve recently seen reports on social media about sick pets that are being fed Purina Dog Chow green bag. See link below. FDA has received reports and are evaluating them. If your pet has been or is sick and you think it’s the dog food discontinued use and take to your vet. Complaints should be reported to FDA and a link to do so is in the article attached. LN
