We’re thankful for:
• The sweet sound of a boot on leather that still gives us chills
• Pitches that turn into chocolate pudding by the 20-minute mark
• Props who treat the dinner table like an all-you-can-eat scrum
• That one winger who’s been “one season away from retirement” since 2014
• Refs who somehow keep us honest (and drive us absolutely mental)
• The random stranger in the other colors who still helps you up after a big hit
• The beautiful, stupid, glorious game that keeps dragging us back no matter how old or broken we get
Today we don’t care what club crest you wear — we’re all just grateful you play this ridiculous sport with us.
So raise a glass (or a protein shake) to muddy jerseys, cracked ribs, lifelong mates, and one more phase.
