Some stories change everything… and this is one of them.
After our very first Dinger Disciples camp in Waco in 2025, two incredible young men—Jackson and Asher—were talking together one evening. Their moms happened to overhear the conversation.
The boys were talking about how amazing it would be if there was a Dinger Disciples camp just for people with special needs.
They had no idea anyone was listening.
When their moms shared that conversation with us, we couldn’t stop thinking about it. God used the faith, excitement, and simple hearts of two young boys to plant a vision we never saw coming.
Today, because of Jackson and Asher, that vision has become a reality!
Our Special Needs Camp started with two kids who believed everyone deserved to experience the love of Jesus, the joy of baseball, and the feeling of belonging.
Jackson and Asher, thank you for inspiring us to dream bigger. You reminded us that sometimes God speaks through the smallest voices to accomplish the biggest things.
This ministry is better because of you, and we’ll never forget where it all began. ❤️⚾️✝️
Asher- “Everyone deserves to play baseball and softball.”
Can we show these guys some love!?!

‼️ LONG POST AHEAD! ‼️
Can I just be real with everyone for just a second? In preparation of our very first special needs camp, this has had me up all hours of the night thinking of a way for Dinger Disciples to have our own headquarters. BUT, What if we stopped thinking about building a baseball/softball complex… and started thinking about building a place where families find Jesus, because why can’t that be all in one place?
Right now, we reach hundreds of kids each year through camps. But what happens after camp is over? What if we had a home where ministry happens every single day?
I don’t want to build another ballpark. I want to build a community.
Imagine a campus that serves our area seven days a week!
Baseball and softball fields that host Little League games and practices.
Rental fields for select teams, tournaments, and private instruction.
An indoor training facility that allows year-round development.
A chapel where every tournament, camp, and special event can begin with prayer and the Gospel.
A lunchroom where campers, teams, volunteers, and families can gather around a meal.
Offices that become the headquarters for Dinger Disciples and future ministry growth.
A concession stand that not only serves families but also generates revenue to support the ministry.
The goal isn’t simply to build fields. The goal is to create a place that pays for itself while funding ministry.
Revenue could come from:
Little League field rentals.
Select team practices and games.
Tournaments.
Batting cage rentals.
Indoor training memberships.
Camps and clinics.
Concession sales.
Merchandise.
Sponsorships and naming rights.
Then we take those resources and pour them back into reaching kids for Christ.
One of the things that excites me the most is creating events that impact our community in ways bigger than baseball.
Imagine a yearly “One Team Night” where children and adults with special needs are paired with local baseball and softball players. They take the field together, hear their names announced, round the bases, receive medals, and experience the joy of the game. Families from across the community come out, local businesses sponsor the event, donations are raised for organizations serving individuals with special needs, and everyone leaves reminded that every person is created in God’s image and deserves to be celebrated.
That’s the kind of place I want Dinger Disciples to become.
I also picture youth worship nights, coach conferences, family movie nights, holiday events, community prayer gatherings, and Bible studies happening throughout the year. Instead of the complex sitting empty when games aren’t being played, it becomes a place where people gather, grow, and build relationships in Christ!
This isn’t just about baseball or softball.
It’s about creating a destination where families know they’re welcome, where kids are developed on and off the field, where the community comes together, and where the Gospel is shared every single day.
If we’re going to dream, LET’S DREAM BIG!!
Let’s build something that will still be changing lives 50 years from now.
Not just a sports complex.
A ministry campus that happens to have baseball and softball fields.
I know this is a ways down the road. But hey, when we started this, our vision was 50-100 kids at one camp. Look what God did!
I don’t know how this will happen…. But GOD!
If you made it this far, we want you to know that Jesus loves you! And so do we!
Let’s go!
