On Command Dog Training
🐾 Training Success Spotlight: Red 🐾
Paula reached out to us with concerns about Red’s reactivity around other dogs. Like many reactive dogs, Red wasn't being "bad" — he simply needed guidance, clarity, and a better way to navigate his environment.
During our session, we worked on building engagement, communication, and helping Red understand that he didn't need to focus on every dog he saw. By the end of the session, the transformation was evident.
As you can see in the video, Red went from reacting to other dogs to completely ignoring them and choosing to focus on Mom instead. 👏🐕
This is what training is all about: creating confidence, building trust, and teaching dogs that their handler is more important than the distractions around them.
Great job, Paula, for putting in the work and being committed to helping Red succeed. We're proud of both of you and excited to see your continued progress! ❤️🐾
Remember, training is not a one-time event. Consistency is the key to long-term success. The progress Red made during this session is an excellent foundation, and by continuing to practice these skills daily, Paula and Red will continue building confidence and reliability in real-world situations.

Good morning and happy Sunday, good people. Have you always wanted a trained dog but didn’t have “trained dog money”? Well, here’s your opportunity. Rafah has been training with us at On Command Dog Training for 4 weeks and has two weeks remaining. It’s unfathomable that such a great dog hasn’t been adopted yet. He’s up to date on vaccines, well socialized, potty trained, crate trained, knows a slew of commands and is ready to be your new bestie. You’ll see in these pictures that he’s also trained in doing either leg locks 🦵 🔐 or giving pedicures 💅 to his friends. If you’re interested in meeting or adopting Rafah, please reach out to us at 254-265-7400 or contact the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center.

Rafah, a (possible pocket) Pitty or Pitty Mix is eligible for adoption through the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center. He’s estimated to be around 5 months. He just completed his first week of training with us and has 5 more weeks to go. He’s crate and potty trained. Super sweet and gets along wonderfully with dogs. If you’re interested in adopting him, please call us at 254-265-7400 and let’s schedule a meet and greet. Or, you can contact the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center.
Fenway is a Bully Mix and is also eligible for adoption through a private family. His family paid for his training in hopes of finding him a new home. We’ve had him with a few younger, smaller dogs this past week and he did well. He does seem to rely on dominance posturing, which with another dominant dog could be problematic. He’s also got another 5 weeks with us to work on that and advance his obedience training; which is going wonderfully. We look forward to hearing from interested families for both of these pups.
