Saturday greetings. There has been a recent surge in speeding, especially on Saturdays, as new visitors arrive at KCB. Please be mindful of your speed limits. We would prefer not to issue tickets to our guests while they are on vacation.

The Unum insurance company sent more than 60 volunteers from its offices around the nation to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Monroe County Sheriff's Office Animal Farm on June 3, 2026, to donate their time to make more than $20,000 in improvements!

“I want to thank this company for their generous donation and time,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “These improvements to our Animal Farm are great for our animals and visitors. It’s these sort of partnerships that make the Sheriff’s Office and our community such a positive place!”

The company worked closely with Farmers Aja Ferretti and Jeanne Selander to organize the projects:

• Built and painted three goat climbing structures
• Landscaped rock-lined pathways and installed custom perches in the aviary
• Assembled picnic tables, benches, trash cans, and activity boards for kids, among other upgrades
• Placed a new 6-foot chest freezer
• Improved the Animal Farm entrance area
