At the February LKGA Annual Meeting, there were several things updated, discussed and voted on.
-Membership is at 183 with 15 new members.
-Financially, we are solid shape
-We elected a slate of board members: Janice Kitchening, Roger Levering, Patrick Ritter, Dave Roney to three year terms.

In conjunction with the official business, we gave out our annual awards and scholarships. This year, we increased the scholarships to $1500 each and provided a $100 stipend to the junior golfer award winners. This year's winners are:
Ed Rochelle men's scholarship: Chad Stolka
LKGA women's scholarship: Claudia Steling
Michael Conroy Sportsmanship award: Geo Twyman
Kitty Clements Sportsmanship award: Lexi Finigan
Chuck Gilmore Most Improved Player awards: Mary Alice Davila

Also, this year we had two Jerry Rodda Memorial awards annually given to volunteers and others who represent "sportsmanship, citizenship and esprit de corps." The first award went to Robert Barrios who consistently supports the LKGA and scramble events. Robert also helps out with the Key West High School golf team. The other recipient was Joshua Bassett the retiring Key West High School golf coach.

Congratulations to the winners.

The LKGA had their February scramble event on February 8th. It was well attended as it was our annual meeting where we give out various awards and scholarships.
In what was a very close competition the team of Wilson, Holt, Weddell and Feltman took first place low net and the team of Fagan, Roney, Anthony and Springett took first place gross.
Congratulations to all the golf winners!

I know it's a little late, but that doesn't take away from the solid performance by the winners of this year's LKGA Championship earlier this month.

The overall low gross women champion is Terry Frasik (92) and the low gross men champions is Daniel Fitzpatrick (74). All hail the champions!
There were also net score winners in each of our four flights. They were:
Women's Flight: Janice Wickman (72), Janice Kitching (75) and Peggy Butts (77)
Men's Championship Flight: John Bosch (69), Donny Barrios (72) and Rodger Levering (72)
Men's First Flight: Flip Wilson (68), Norm Fowler (73) and Gary Butts (74)
Men's Second Flight: Nolan Griffin (67), Henry Holt (71) and Charlie Coffman (73)

Thank you for all who participated. It was one of the most attended Championship events we've had.

We resume our LKGA Scrambles on February 8th.

The October, 2025 LKGA Scramble was likely one of the closest top to bottom that I can remember! There was about five strokes separating the entire field and only about two strokes from third place.
We also had several different people winning both the team and hole prizes as well.
In the end, it was the team of Brownell, Goodfellow, Holleman and Burson that took first place with a net 60.10. Congratulations!
Our next LKGA Scramble is November 9th.
