Heads up, Kettering! Our annual hydrant flushing program is underway. Crews are working weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding weekends and holidays.

While crews are in your area, please run cold water to check for clarity and hold off on washing laundry until after 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On April 23, crews from Engine 34 and Medic 34 responded to a 41-year-old male in cardiac arrest in the entryway of his home. A bystander was already performing CPR upon arrival. Our crews quickly took over, utilized the Lucas Chest Compression System, secured the patient's airway and delivered aggressive advanced life support interventions under extremely challenging circumstances. The patient made a remarkable recovery and was discharged home just six days later on April 29. We are incredibly proud of you all!

On Christmas morning, Ladder 32 and Medic 32 responded to a 64-year-old male in cardiac arrest. Working alongside Kettering Police Department officers who were already performing CPR, our crews took over patient care, utilized the Lucas Chest Compression System and delivered advanced life support interventions that resulted in the patient's full recovery. He was discharged in time to celebrate the New Year with his family.
