A heat advisory has been issued for the City of Hyder, Ketchikan Borough, and Prince of Wales Island. High temperatures are expected to reach into the low to mid 80s over portions of the southern panhandle on Tuesday. Highest temperatures will be inland away from marine areas. Warm temperatures are also anticipated for Monday and Wednesday into the mid to high 70s across the entire panhandle.

An atmospheric river is sliding into the Panhandle late Thursday through Saturday, bringing snow, rain, wind, and a personal vendetta against storm drains.

What’s on the menu:
• Snow that immediately regrets its life choices and turns into rain
• 1–4 inches of rain (locally: more, because of course)
• Deep snowpack = clogged drains = “Why is there a lake here?”
• Creeks rising fast and hills thinking about moving

🌬️ Wind Update
South winds 25–35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, strong enough to:
• Yeet your trash cans
• Reorganize your yard
• Cancel electricity
• Test every knot you tied while saying “that’s probably fine”
