What do you wanna wear? Imaginations and remnants, a button or a ball, or maybe you need spatula for that dress? It’s from the swirling thoughts of “what about this” comes a choice: more information here: https://www.ketchikanarts.org/programs-events/local-arts-and-culture/ketchikan-area-arts-and-humanities-council/wearable-art-ketchikan/youth-wearable/class-registration-2.html

KAP has seen a significant increase in attendance this year and we’ve decided, in order to improve our program and set our trajectory for continued growth we need to make some changes. At the same time we’ve also seen a increase in negative interactions between youth and the other tenants and patrons in the Plaza so these changes in part, are our responsibility towards our Plaza neighbors. These changes will allow KAP to create more activities while at the same time secure our space here in the Plaza. I hope you will understand, these changes ultimately will have a positive impact on the students who come to KAP and the Community in which KAP is creating these opportunities.
The first change is that all KAP students must be OFFICIALLY ENROLLED in order to participate in our program. This will allow KAP to create a greater diversity of programs including after school FIELD TRIPS to discover some of the wonderful opportunities we have on our island with their friends and class mates. It will also allow us to better assist families through our youth programming by reporting your child’s attendance each week.
The second change, which is largely influenced by the increasing examples of negative behaviors among the youth in the Plaza, is a NO RE-ENTRY policy. Students are asked to remain in KAP if they sign in for the day, and participate in one of the many activities we have. Students will still be able to arrive at any time and leave without restriction. We have KAP PLAZA passes and policy which is designed to give students the opportunity to have access to all aspects of the plaza, while spending the majority of their after school time with us.
If you have any questions at all about these changes I encourage you to contact me or visit us at the Plaza in 203. Access to the ENROLLMENT FORM: https://hipaa.jotform.com/222347320995156
