Just a little bit about me, my family and my home based care. 🙂
As a teenager, I started watching children after school, on the weekends & during the summer. I also helped out in the Kindergarten classrooms during my study halls, while in high school. I have worked with children since I was 12 years of age, up until I was 19 years old.
Now I'm 40 yrs old. I have two children. I also own my own home here in Kenton. My oldest child is 15 years old. He is involved in Track & Field, weight lifting and FFA My youngest is going on 11 years old. She is in Gymnastics, Dance and 4H. She loves to sing too. Both attend school full time. Both participate in raising goats for fair projects.
Shell's Child Care opened in May of 2012. I started off as a private care provider. But as of 2021, I am a licensed Daycare provider for the State of Ohio. I offer services to private pay families, as well as families who receive assistance. I feel everyone should have the opportunity to receive quality childcare! I have many references as well as certifications. I have passed a background check. The state conducts inspections throughout the year as well, to assure a child safe environment is upheld.
When you and your family come to our home, You will feel welcomed. The children typically make themselves right at home. 🙂 You will find that I provide honest, reliable, quality care. I give my families peace of mind, knowing their little ones are really being cared for. I want the children to receive the attention and interaction similar to what they would receive in their own home. I like the children to feel as if they are part of our family.
My home based daycare is a place where learning & playtime is what I like to call "homemade". We have a semi- flexible schedule. But, we don't follow some book to tell us how to go about our day. We create our day as we go and enjoy it! We play. We learn. We color, explore, dance and more. The children can enjoy just being children. They are only little for a short time. We should enjoy it with them.
I offer a place where learning & playtime go hand in hand. I believe while a child is playing, they are also learning.
