The Kent State New York City Fashion program is celebrating 20 years of excellence June 11-12! Kent State is in the top 25 fashion programs in the world and the No. 1 university-based fashion program in the United States.
Alumnus Braedy Luxenburg, ’22, will be attending the celebration event. He is the creative director, designer and founder of the fashion brand Luxenburg. While studying at the School of Fashion, he developed a foundation in design, merchandising and visual communication.
Since launching Luxenburg, he has grown the brand into an independent label with a global presence across the United States and Japan. The brand is known for its reinterpretation of historical and medieval references through a modern menswear lens, balancing craftsmanship, storytelling and contemporary silhouette development.
Luxenburg has been featured in publications including Women’s Wear Daily, Office Magazine, Flaunt and Hypebeast. Braedy’s fashions have been worn by emerging cultural figures across music and art, contributing to Luxenburg’s growing visibility within the contemporary fashion landscape.
The two-day event celebrating the legacy of Kent State's New York City Fashion program will spotlight more fashion alumni like Braedy and current students who are excelling in the world of fashion.

We are two weeks away from the Kent State School of Fashion’s 20th anniversary of its New York City Fashion program! Let's take a look at alumna Dior Delophont Gleysteen, ’16, who will be attending the celebration!
Dior came to Kent State to pursue a dual path of fashion and sports. During her senior year in the School of Fashion, she was selected to showcase her collection on the runway at Beijing Fashion Week! As an eight-time All-American track student-athlete, she was inducted into the Kent State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
After graduation, she set her sights on New York City. In 2026, Dior officially opened Maison Kébou, a couture house built upon the confidence gleaned from her global path as well as a rich narrative of artistry designed for the 21st century woman.
“I wanted to build a couture house defined by its dedication to high craft, global perspective and uncompromising spirit.”- Dior Delophont Gleysteen
