Our special February event is here!! Join us February 13th in the student center for a movie night! As Valentine's Day is coming closer, we will be watching Barbie with an interpreter on screen. We will have popcorn, cookies, and bottles of water.

ASL CLUB IS BACK! Since the beginning of the fall semester, we have been having monthly meetings and holding fun events and parties for a non-classroom, hands-up environment. If you don't already, give our Instagram (.aslclub) a follow, as we are more active on there and post all events and will answer any questions! Frequently asked questions:
What do I need to do to be a part of the club?
Pay dues, which are $6 for the semester, and hazing training (this is something you have to complete if you are a part of any organization on campus. It takes only 20-30 minutes to complete and if you have previously done it, then you're all set!)

What do my dues go towards?
Our special events and parties. You paying dues allows for us to have more fun events where we can have snacks, decorations, and things like that!

Do you guys have merch?

Are you open to all levels and all majors?
YES! We are simply a space where you can learn more about ASL, the Deaf community, and converse outside of the classroom. For those with a lower level of signing, we do teach some signs in our monthly meetings but we also don't expect our advanced signers to hold back. We usually split by level when conversing, so it's less intimidating and everyone has the chance to get better.

What events do you do?
We have two monthly meetings: one on the first Monday of the month and one on the third Tuesday. These meetings are identical to allow for more people to show up if they can't make Monday or Tuesday nights work. This semester, we have a special event planned for each month. This month, we are doing a Barbie movie night with an interpreter on February 13th, with popcorn, cookies, and cute little valentines. We also do something called coffee chats, where we meet at Tree City in downtown Kent on Saturdays 10-11am. Every other week, these coffee chats will be dedicated to advanced signers to converse.

Here are our meeting times for the upcoming semester! Meetings will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8 in Bowman Hall room 204. A reminder that we do have membership fees. These fees help us fund future events to host for your guy's enjoyment. Fees are $5 a semester, if you paid last semester for the whole year you are all good to go! We hope to see all of you guys there.
