Steve, a young racer from San Antonio, Texas, possessed a remarkable aptitude for research and development. Noticing that existing race fuel manufacturers were not achieving the optimum horsepower, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

With a self-taught understanding of chemistry and physics, Steve began experimenting with unique fuel blends. Despite the dismay of his parents, who probably weren't thrilled with their garage being transformed into a laboratory, Steve persevered. He started by testing his fuel at local tracks in Texas, where racers quickly noticed the power gains and became enthusiastic about his product.

In 1975, VP Racing Fuels was officially founded, with Steve's first fuel creation named "C12™." As word spread about the performance of VP Racing Fuels, the company gained recognition and became a trusted name in the industry.
