Does your toddler wake up at night? This is typically normal childhood development, not a behavior concern.
"Sleep in early childhood is shaped by brain maturation, temperament, hunger, dreams, separation needs, and changing sleep cycles. Many toddlers do not fully regulate sleep on command. In those moments, it can be more of a can’t than a won’t.
How parents respond also matters. Consistent comfort, calm boundaries, and predictable routines can help children feel safe while gradually building independent sleep skills. Responding does not automatically create dependence. For many children, security becomes the base from which independence grows. There is no one perfect method for every family. Focus on patterns, connection, and what is sustainable. Night waking is common, and support can be part of healthy development too."
