Good day, gamers!

Another Sunday, another game to be shown off and discounted this weekend for our Feature Fridays promotion!

As the FIFA World Cup begins in earnest, we look to an international sensation of a different variety: Hatsune Miku, the virtual idol mascot for the Vocaloid software voicebank, who has several rhythm games that feature her. But today, we're going to focus on just one in particular: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is this week's featured game!

Future Tone is the 2013 sequel to the original 2010 Project Diva Arcade, which itself was a port of the Playstation Portable title that was released in 2009.

Gameplay, at its core, is relatively simple, as it is with most rhythm games. Much as it is with the PSP versions, you'll see symbols for the face buttons appear on the screen, with matching symbols scrolling across the screen. The idea is to press the matching button when the scrolling symbol overlaps with the stationary symbol, pressing the buttons in tune to the music.

What makes Future Tone unique is the addition of a touch slider control method, including new arrow-shaped symbols that players have to swipe left or right, on top of pressing the buttons, adding a layer of complexity.

On top of upgraded graphics and smoother animations, thanks to Sega's Nu arcade board, along with a much larger and newer tracklist, which includes all the tracks from the previous game, Future Tone is widely seen as a far-and-away superior game to its predecessor in every way.

A fun fact about our particular cabinet is that our technicians practically had to piece the entire game together from the ground up. All we had when we got it was the cabinet shell, and little else. But we persevered, and now the whole game is available for everyone to enjoy!
