Kemp Cemetery

The cemetery is opening up bids for ground maintenance. Please see below for details. Bids close March 1st.

The Kemp Cemetery will be hosting a BBQ Cook off to benefit the Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Texas to kick off the Labor Day weekend.
All proceeds go to the Kemp Cemetery. We are looking for teams or individuals that want to enter the contest.
We will be judging Brisket, Chicken, Ribs and beans (the meat and beans must be cooked on site) by wood smokers or pellet smokers. We will also are adding side dishes ( example potato salad, coleslaw or any other sides) and desserts to the contest. Side dishes and desserts do not have to be cooked on site. We are asking that all food cooked be donated so we will be serving BBQ plates with sides, tea or water and a dessert for $10 each ( no charge to team members)
We will have t-shirts for sale $15 each with the team names on the back of the shirts. These proceeds also go to Kemp Cemetery!
The location is at the West Cedar Creek RV Park owned by Jackie and Gary Ingram. You can bring campers or tents for dry camping . There is a clubhouse with kitchen facilities and restrooms and showers . For those who don’t cook, please come by and eat and/or you can make donations which will be greatly appreciated! Please contact Cindy Davenport or one of the other co-hosts to sign your teams up and camping information. You are welcome to arrive anytime after 1:00 pm on Friday Aug 30 to set up camp and cooking
Your meat must be checked in prior to cooking! Judging will start at 4:00 pm Saturday Aug 31st and food served following the Judging and awards.
We need all team names no later than noon on Friday Aug 23rd to ensure your team names get on the t-shirts.
1st through 4th place will be awarded in each category, including side dishes and desserts! There will be no money payout since this is a benefit for the cemetery.

We plan to have music, corn hole and horseshoes for those who want to cook and camp out on Friday.

Taking bids to remove 2 large dead trees with the stumps removed also from the cemetery. Please mail your bid to PO BOX 84 Kemp, Tx 75143. Bids will close June 1, 2023.

The trees are marked with pink ribbon.

We had our meeting on April 18,2023 and voted to raise the price of a plot. Starting June 1, 2023 the price of a plot will be $650.
