Spokane Mountaineers invites our community to attend its next general meeting on January 22 at the Spokane Public Library South Hill Branch, at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Out There Outdoors Senior Writer Amy McCaffree is the featured presenter.

Amy is a Gen X mom of two children, now teenagers, and for 10 years was “Out There Kids” columnist.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Amy and her husband’s kids started camping, hiking, and downhill skiing as toddlers & shredding black diamonds by age 5; biking without aid during preschool; building a (supervised) campfire by 7; and fly fishing and kayaking/stand-up paddling independently by age 9.

She will present on How to Cultivate a “Fresh-Air Parenting” mindset for being an Outdoor Family with ideas, tips, & strategies for motivating and “recreation guiding” kids of all ages for downhill skiing, hiking, water-sports, and more; safety and risk mitigation; gear, packing, & travel; destination ideas and recommendations; and more cool stuff about parenting in the outdoors.
