AND THEY'RE OFF!
The table is set for the 2026 elections in New Hampshire and Cheshire County that may reorder the playing field and the fate of many competing points-of-view effecting local families.
Governor
For Governor, former executive councilor Cinde Warmington will be the Democrat’s choice to challenge first term governor and former US Senator Kelly Ayotte. Ayotte has two primary challengers, where Warmington is unopposed.
US Senate
A crowded field has emerged to succeed retiring three-term US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, with the most-watched contest being that between former US Senators John Sununu and Scott Brown, both from Rye, in the Republican primary. On the Democratic side, progressive Karishma Manzur of Exeter is mounting an anti-establishment campaign against first-district Congressman Chris Pappas, who is leaving that seat for a try at the senate. Pappas’ departure has attracted five Republicans and nine Democrats trying to replace him. The field includes Shaheen’s daughter, Stefany Shaheen.
Congress
The Second Congressional District, which includes Cheshire County, has another Democratic anti-establishment progressive, Paige Beauchemin, going up against first-term incumbent Maggie Goodlander. Four Republicans have signed up for the Republican primary, including perennial Libertarian turned Republican candidate Lily Tang Williams, who lost the 2024 general election to Goodlander by a wide margin.
Executive Council
Two of the five executive council districts, or commonly known as governor’s councilors, represent towns in Cheshire County. District Two incumbent Karen Liot-Hill, the lone Democrat on the council, is unopposed in her primary. She is being challenged by Republicans Tobin Menard of Newport and Kim Strathdee of Plymouth, who will face off in the September 8 primary. In District Five, there is a rematch between Republican incumbent David Wheeler of Milford and Democrat Melanie Levesque of Brookline.
State Senate
There are 24 state senate districts in New Hampshire, and three include voters from Cheshire County towns. In district eight, Democrat David Trumble of Weare, and Republican Jim Creighton of Antrim are competing to replace outgoing Republican incumbent Ruth Ward. District nine sees incumbent Republican Denise Riccardi being challenged again by Democrat Matthew McLaughlin of Bedford, who received 48 per cent of the vote against Riccardi in 2024. Rome is burning. Not only are Americans being distracted from the crimes being committed by the president, but people will have to pay a subscription for the honor.
To watch the "Freedom 250" UFC fight, most people will need an account on Paramount+, an online streaming service that costs at least $8.99 per month.
The Republican Party is so committed to their greedy agenda that they are allowing the debasing of our government in order to stay in power.
But they will fail. The American people will take back our country.
