🔔Household Hazardous Waste Disposal | This Saturday, June 13 (8:30AM - 12:00PM)
You have a few more days to gather all of your items for the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Disposal event this Saturday, June 13th.
Wyandotte County residents can safely dispose of common household hazardous waste during Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day, held this Saturday at the Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Center, 2443 South 88th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. The event will be held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. (UPDATED ENDING TIME)
Note, the service is FREE for Wyandotte County residents, but proof of residency is required. Residents should bring a document showing their name and address, such as a driver’s license or BPU bill.

🔔Are you a small business located in KCK? Business Grants Available!
If so, you may qualify for a small business grant from the UG of up to $10,000.
The Small Business Grant is a program available for existing small businesses located in Kansas City, KS, with 25 or fewer employees that are preparing for expansion and looking to move to the next level of business and job growth.
The goal of this program is to increase the number of small businesses in Kansas City, KS, support growth in the downtown corridor, and revitalize our legacy urban areas. The Unified Government will provide grants of up to $10,000 to qualified applicants.
Please help us spread the word to small businesses in KCK.

🔔As of June 1, RideKC Buses will begin charging fares again for the first time in 6 years.
Public transit throughout the region will begin charging fares on June 1, 2026. This includes service provided by KCATA, Johnson County Transit, and the Unified Government Transit.
🚌For Wyandotte County Residents with cash, please be aware that you can come to the UG Fleet Center at 5033 State Avenue, KCK between 9AM - 4PM to purchase a farecard with cash.
There will be updates published frequently to keep you informed.
Here's the cost to ride beginning June 1, 2026.
-Single Ride - $2
-Daily Pass - $4
-Weekly Pass - $20
-Monthly Pass - $62.50
-Riders who qualify for reduced fare will pay half of the above prices.
Please note, CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON THE BUS.
On June 1, you'll be able to pay in 3 ways.
1) Tap to Pay using a Visa, Discover or Mastercard directly on the fare reader on board.
2) Use our RideKCGO Mobile App to store value right on your smartphone.
3) Purchase a Limited Use Pre-Programmed Day Pass.

Trash & Recycling Delayed for Memorial Day
Kansas City, Kansas residents should expect a one-day delay in residential trash and recycling collection during the week of Memorial Day.
Waste Management of Kansas City, Inc. will not collect residential trash or recycling on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Collection will run one day behind for the remainder of the week.
The revised collection schedule is:
Monday: Place items at the street or curb edge on Tuesday, May 26
Tuesday: Place items at the street or curb edge on Wednesday, May 27
Wednesday: Place items at the street or curb edge on Thursday, May 28
Thursday: Place items at the street or curb edge on Friday, May 29
Friday: Place items at the street or curb edge on Saturday, May 30
