🌱 One year ago, the City of Prairie Village set out to solve a problem: how do we give residents an easy, accessible way to compost?

They started with a goal, trusted their community, and brought us in to help power the infrastructure with our Smart Cans. What happened next is a masterclass in community action.

When the program launched last fall, the response was so overwhelming that the city immediately realized they needed more bins just to keep up with you all (remember this early headline from 😉). Fast forward through a highly successful pilot, and a few months ago, the City Council voted unanimously (11-0!) to make the entire program a permanent part of PV’s infrastructure.

In just 12 months, Prairie Village residents have diverted over 95,000 pounds of food scraps from the landfill.
